Year 1

Year 1 have been looking at Kandinsky and how he uses shape, line and colour. They have created some fabulous art pieces.

In Year 1 we have been learning about Emmeline Pankhurst and how she protested for equal rights for women. Today we made our own banners and rosettes and did a protest through the school with the chant, "Equal rights- votes for women." The children learnt how protests made everybody look at them and listen to what they had to say.

In Year 1 we have been writing about the seaside. We made our own beach and sea to help with our vocabulary bank.

We have been looking at the painting 'Fishing Boats on the Beach at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer' by Vincent Van Gogh. We chose materials to represent the textures within the photos.
