Open Afternoon
A big thank you to all our lovely families who came along to our Reception Open Afternoon! It was wonderful to welcome you into our classroom, share our learning environment with you and see the children so excited to show you around and enjoy playing together. We hope you enjoyed having a little glimpse into your child's day at school. Thank you for making it such a special afternoon!
We Are All Special in God's Eyes
As part of our RE learning in Creation and Covenant, we explored the part of the Creation story where God created human beings. We talked about the words “God saw that it was good” and how God made each of us special and unique. The children enjoyed painting their own self-portraits, looking carefully at their features and celebrating what makes them who they are. We proudly displayed our beautiful portraits in our classroom as a reminder that we are all wonderfully made and loved by God.
Growing in God's Love
Linked to our school Mission Statement, each child planted their own flower in our Prayer Garden. We talked about how, just like the flowers in the field, we will all grow and blossom throughout our Reception year. As we learn, make new friends and care for one another, we will continue to grow in God’s love each day.
