Catholic Mission at School
Here at St Alphonsus we are the family of God. We are committed to living out our School Mission Statement everyday. Christ is our centre, and we follow in his footsteps in our service to our school family and community.
We work hard to develop our gifts so we can use them to show love for one another, unity and to care for our common home.
Jesus said,
"For when two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.'
Matthew 18:20

Love
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
(John 15:12)
In our loving school, we know that “God is love”
(1 John 4:8) and Christ is at the centre of everything we do – ‘God lives in me.’
We learn to see God’s love in everyone, turning His words into loving actions by caring for our whole school and global community and by serving others.
Grow
“Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
(Colossians 2:7-9)
In our loving school, we believe that nothing is impossible to a willing heart because we know that: “With God all things are possible,” (Matthew 19:26)
Through our journey of faith each day, we grow in God’s love personally, spiritually and academically. As we pray and live out God’s Word, we are nourished by His Holy Spirit to grow in His image and likeness.
Respect
“The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.”
(Mark 12:30-31)
Rooted in our belief that every person is made in the image and likeness of God, at St Alphonsus, we embrace self-respect, mutual respect and tolerance for people of different faiths, cultures and traditions. Every day, we celebrate and respect our diverse community and all of God’s wonderful creation.
Forgiveness
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you…”
(Matthew 6:14)
Here at St Alphonsus RC Primary School, we follow Jesus’ merciful teachings and loving footsteps by seeking to reconcile our differences. We become activists of God’s peace and love by saying sorry and making a fresh start.
