Monday 24th November - Year 6 are on their way to Robinwood!
11th November 2025 - Remembrance Day: To remember and honour all the men and women who have died fighting in wars, Year 6 gathered together for the two-minute silence and prayed the Eternal Rest afterwards. They also read In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, reflecting on the message of the poem. They then used the poem to create Blackout Poetry and as inspiration for their Silhouette Art.
November 2025 - Rocks of Remembrance. As part of our Day of the Dead celebrations, Year 6 designed and made Rocks of Remembrance for loved ones who have passed away. The rocks are a lovely way to remember friends and family members who have been lost and will make a beautiful keepsake for the children to treasure in the future.
October 2025 - Computing: Pupils worked on a collaborative project, creating a fact file about a South American country, using only their laptops to communicate. Once completed, each group will present their country fact file to the rest of the class.
20th October 2025 - Science: Year 6 had fun exploring different light phenomena, such as reflection, refraction and optical illusions. They also enjoyed using a range of optical instruments, including periscopes and microscopes.
15th October 2025 - English: Year 6 had to retrieve information from our class novel "Letters from the Lighthouse" and use these details to create a map of the fictional Devonshire village of Budmouth Point.
8th October - Mathematics: Year 6 used counters to help them to understand the importance of using the correct order of operations (BODMAS).
8th October - Physical Education: Year 6 were challenged to guide their blindfolded partner around an obstacle course. Not only did this enhance their empathy and trust, it also put their communication skills to the test!
October:- Science: Year 6 investigated how shadows can change. They concluded that the closer an object is to the light source, the bigger the shadow will be.
Friday 3rd October - Year 6 kicked off our class assemblies in style this morning celebrating Black History Month. They welcomed all the children and their parents in to the hall and performed their assembly perfectly.
