Thursday 28th March - Today we had our Holy Thursday Easter Assembly followed by the lenten token draw.

Wednesday 27th March - Year 3 and 4 children performed their Stations of the Cross in the hall this afternoon. Each of the other classes visited the hall and travelled from station to station listening carefully to the children read about each of them.

Monday 25th March - We had a special visit from Dan today to show us the Ukelele, Electric Ukelele and Electric Guitar! Dan will be providing lessons on these instruments to children in school over the coming weeks! Click the link below to see some of the instruments being played!

Friday 1st March - The new Reading Ambassadors received their badges during our Good News Assembly this morning. They are all eager to start their new roles to promote reading across our school.

Friday 1st March - The Year 4 Mini Vinnies Good News Guides supporting Year 2 prayer leaders with planning their Celebration of the Word. The Mini Vinnies will also be starting a new initiative ‘Mini Vinnies Boardgame Buddies’ to support children who may need a helping hand.

In their call to action, the Mini Vinnies asked the whole school to donate tins and food to feed the hungry in our community. Breda Collins from the St Vincent de Paul Charity in Hulme collected our donations and thanked school for our contributions which made a positive difference to those in need in our community.

The Mini Vinnies made Christmas cards for those who do not have their freedom in HMS prisons. Sister Maura from The Daughters of Charity, kindly donated recycled Christmas cards for them to use in their art work. If you have any Christmas cards at home, then please send them into school to be recycled and reused in future projects.

This week in our Wednesday Word, Pope Francis asks us to be an active presence in the community. Liarnah- Rae has been a fantastic steward and Mini Vinnie and an inspiration to us all by collecting litter in her street and community.

Thursday 21st December - This morning we celebrated Christmas in our special assembly. We listened to the true story of Christmas, sang carols and finished with our Advent Token Prize Draw. Luckily, all children this year received a prize which was fantastic! We wish all our families a lovely peaceful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Wednesday 20th December - The children enjoyed watching the pantomime Sinbad this afternoon in the hall for the end of term trophy wall treat. They had a great time....”Oh yes they did!”

Thursday 14th December - Year 5 and 6 enjoyed their Christmas Party this afternoon.

Wednesday 13th December - Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic surprise this morning - Christian Eriksen made a surprise visit to school to take part in some MUFC Foundation lessons and give out some MUFC Shoe Boxes full of gifts! The children had a fantastic time!

Thursday 7th December - Today was 'Christmas Dinner Day!' All the school enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner cooked and served by our fabulous kitchen staff. Everyone enjoyed the dinner, the atmosphere and the music!

Wedesday 6th December - Years 5 and 6 welcomed their families in this afternoon and performed their Christmas Performance!

Tuesday 5th December - Years 3 and 4 welcomed their families in this afternoon and performed their Christmas Performance!

Monday 4th December - Years 1 and 2 welcomed their families in this afternoon and performed their Christmas Performance!

Friday 1st December - Our Mini Vinnies received a special award in recognition of their efforts this morning. Well done to all who contributed to the food collection for our local community!

Wednesday 29th November - St Alphonsus Bake Off Day! Today we held our St Alphonsus Bake Off - the children through school have made and brought in their sweet creations! They have all done a fantastic job at baking and creating some of the most wonderful looking and tasting cakes! Well done to our overall winner - Kyle Y5.

Monday 13th November - Our KS2 choir were invited to sing and talk to members of Old Trafford Heritage and History Group.

Friday 10th November - Congratulations to Ayden and Brayden! Our latest winners of the Caritas Salford Catholic Social Teaching Award for their efforts in going above and beyond! Well done boys!

Thursday 2nd November - Father Pat joined us this afternoon for our special Day of the Dead celebration assembly. We gathered in the hall in front of our special altar and Father Pat blessed all the Ofrendas the children had made over the past two weeks.

Monday 30th October - Trafford Council visited our school this morning and did a special assembly about litter. They talked to the children about making sure they put their litter in the bins, picking up litter when it’s safe to do and also about recycling. The children did a little quiz about which items go in which bins at their homes. We also get to keep Percy Penguin on our playground this week to put our rubbish in!

Our Eco-team collaborated with Year 6 and Afifah Islamic School to organise a litter pick in our local area. We collected litter on the path and areas between our schools. We want everyone to respect our community and if it is clean, people may decide to put their litter in the bin. If it is already littered, people might think it is acceptable to add their rubbish to it. We say NO! to littering our streets.

Mini Vinnie Handprints - Our new Mini Vinnies have been busy making handprints to show how they will serve our school and wider community with their hands and hearts and turn their concern into action.

Friday 29th September - Trafford music service visited school today to inform the children of their services across Trafford. The 'St Alphonsus Band' was formed and the whole school enjoyed performing their rhythms. Further information will be passed out to the children should they wish to learn to play an instrument.

Wednesday 13th September - Father Pat came to school today and celebrated mass with the whole school to start off our journey with Jesus in the new school year.
