17th December - Computing: The Year 6 children enjoyed designing and creating their own websites.
16th December - Science: Year 6 investigated what affects the brightness of bulbs in a circuit.
December - Design and Technology: This half term, the children have designed, assembled and decorated their own waistcoats. Look at the great job they did!
December - Our Year 6 children and our Eco Reds teamed up with the Year 6's from Afifah to do a litter pick around the local area.
12th December - The KS2 choir sang Christmas Carols for the local community and played the bells. Their performance was well received and put everyone in the Christmas spirit.
9th December - Science: The children enjoyed playing the part of 'electricians' to find and fix problems in circuits.
4th December - Physical Education: Year 6 were introduced to blind football in order to enhance their empathy and trust. It also put their communication skills to the test!

Year 6 all ready for their Robinwood trip!
11th November - Maths: Year 6 used manipulatives to help them to understand the importance of the order of operations.
4th November - Science: Year 6 had fun exploring different light phenomena, such as reflection, refraction and optical illusions. They also enjoyed using a range of optical instruments, including periscopes and microscopes.
18th October - Year 6 took part in a local project which aims to encourage people to get out and appreciate their local green spaces. A local artist delivered a workshop in which the children were asked to share their thoughts on the local green spaces and wildlife, and create drawings that will be used on the signage for the local green trail and on the OT Green Trail website.
16th October - Computing: Children considered how people can work together when they are not in the same location. They discussed tips for working together and completed a collaborative online project on a South American country. In their groups, they then presented their slideshows orally.
14th October - Science: Year 6 investigated how to change the size of shadows.
8th October - Music: In their saxophone lesson today, the Year 6's revised playing the note 'B' and moved on to playing the note 'A'.
8th October - Music: Year 6 warmed up by performing a round.
Friday 4th October - Year 6 kicked off the class assemblies in style this morning celebrating Black History Month. The children and parents enjoyed their assembly very much. Well done to our Year 6 children.
1st October 2024 - Music: Children composed their own piece of music using body percussion.
25th September 2024 - Computing: LO: To recognise how data is transferred across the internet. Children simulated the process of sending data packets over a network. The children around the edge of the room were the computer systems and the children in the middle were the routers, passing information from one to the other. Amazingly, all the data packets travelled to their correct destination - well done, Year 6!
24th September 2024 - Music: Children used musical notation to play the saxophone.
23rd September 2024 - Light: Children investigated the reflectivity of different surfaces using a reflective light catcher.
18th September 2024: Virtual School Visit with Katherine Rundell - the author of Impossible Creatures. Katherine spoke about where she gets her inspiration from for her novels. She also gave Year 6 some valuable advice on story writing!
September 2024 - Music: Whole class instrument and vocal project. Year 6 were very excited about their first saxophone lesson. They warmed up with some rhythm games before practicing making a sound with the reed, mouthpiece and ligature.
September 2024 - Science: To explore how light travels. Year 6 modelled how light travels in straight lines using a piece of ribbon and then drew scientific diagrams to represent this.
